Why is the miller-urey experiment controversial?

Answer 1

In essence, the Miller-Urey experiment demonstrated how amino acids—the building blocks of life—could form spontaneously by allegedly simulating the conditions of the early earth.

However, this experiment was discredited and, I assume, is controversial because it was later shown to be false because the incorrect gases had been used, which is why the results had been so favorable. When the experiment was repeated using the correct gases, however, it failed.

Though it usually means easy grades for Biology class, you should always be prepared for a lot of arguments and controversy if you want to do some formal work on this topic. In general, though, you should always be ready to expect lots of controversy when you get to the field of origin theory.

I hope it was helpful.

Answer 2

Although the Miller-Urey experiment showed that complex organic molecules could form in environments akin to the early Earth's, some scientists contend that the simulated conditions may not have been precise enough to capture the early Earth's actual conditions. This makes the experiment controversial.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
