People believe that cloning is unnatural, that the meat that is produced from livestock may be faulty or of low quality, and that the treatment of cloned livestock may be inhumane—either in the process of copying living things, which may result in a deformed creature, or in the handling of these animals, whose value is diminished by their disposable nature.

Both ethical objections are rooted in mistrust of the sources of our products, fears of technology being misused, and the belief that nature has a better way of doing things that we are going against. These are not scientific arguments—after all, we have been genetically modifying food for centuries—but it is still important to address and investigate people's concerns.
