Both mitochondria and chloroplast are considered endosybionts. It is thought that during the course of life, these two autonomous prokaryotes evolved into symbionts and began to survive independently of prokaryotic nature even in the main cells. These two organelles function as independent prokaryotes, possessing unique cell mechanisms and DNA strands, 60s ribosomes, and other features that distinguish them from their own genes. Thank you.
