Why isn't the fossil record complete?

Answer 1

Fossils record isn't completed because of the following reasons

  1. Fossils form only when organism dies and suddenly buried in low oxygen environment. unfortunately, this scenario is rarely found .In general there are 5% chances that any organism specie will turn into fossil.
  2. Fossil's sign and bodies remain preserved in sedimentary rocks. When sedimentary rocks are deep buried in the earth due to pressure above and temperature it turns into metamorphic rock and fossils destroy .Due to this rock cycle , fossil record has been lost.
3.Digging for fossils require extreme professionalism and field work.

Answer 2

The fossil record isn't complete due to various factors including the selective preservation of certain organisms, geological processes that can destroy or obscure fossils, and the limited areas where fossilization is more likely to occur. Additionally, the fossilization process itself is rare and requires specific conditions to preserve organic material over millions of years.
