Which fundamental force acts over the longest distance?

Both electromagnetism and gravity have infinite range. But gravity is more likely to actually be seen over great distances.

The strong nuclear force and the weak nuclear force, as their names suggest, are only active within atomic nuclei; their ranges are only roughly as long as the extent of an atomic nucleus. Let's start with the knowledge that there are four fundamental forces.

That leaves us with two long-range forces: gravity and electromagnetism. Both can act over infinitely large distances, but on a large scale, all masses add to the gravitational field without any cancellation, while positive and negative charges tend to cancel out their electromagnetic fields.

Therefore, while both gravity and electromagnetic radiation have a long range, gravity is more likely to be observed at large distances.
