Photosynthesis occurs in chloroplasts present in leaves or green part of stem. During photosynthesis, solar energy is entrapped by chlorophyll pigment present in chloroplast and is utilized in converting carbon dioxide and water into glucose molecule.
All other organic compounds are synthesized from glucose molecule during different metabolic paths. Thus the source of chemical energy present in different organic compounds in all organisms is solar energy, which is entrapped by chlorophyll pigment present in chloroplast.
