Yes the universe is changing.. In a way it is expanding!!

The universe underwent an amazing inflationary burst when it was only 10^-34 seconds old, at the beginning of its formation.

However, NASA reports that although the universe is still expanding, it is doing so at a much slower rate.

The universe was not static, as Edwin Hubble discovered in 1920. However, acceleration has caused the expansion to continue today, albeit much more slowly.

The study of supernovas in 1997 and 1998 show that the rate of expansion of the universe is increasing.

The Super Nova Comsmology project, The High Z supernova Search Tean, and the Super Nova Legacy Survey all independently confirmed that the rate of the universe's expansion is increasing, providing empirical evidence that the universe is currently expanding at an accelerating rate.

According to the alternating universe theory, which holds that the universe was initiated by a massive band that reversed and came back together in a "Big Crush" to restart the cycle, the rate of expansion would be decreasing as a result of gravity.

The cosmos is currently expanding, but it will eventually reach a "heat death"—a term used to describe the process by which the laws of thermodynamics cause entropy to rise to the point where the universe loses all mass, order, and usable energy. In other words, the universe is aging, becoming less ordered, and disintegrating.

The empirical evidence casts doubt on the earlier theories of a static, unchanging, eternal, self-existent, steady state universe; rather, the evidence points to the universe's dying, not its self-existence or eternity.
