Humans have 206 bones by the time they reach adulthood. Newborns have 300.

Axial skeleton—the 80 bones of the head, neck, and torso; composed of 74 bones that form the upright axis of the body and six tiny middle ear bones.

Appendicular skeleton—the 126 bones that form the appendages to the axial skeleton; the upper and lower extremities.

Cranium or brain case composed of eight bones including the frontal, occipital, sphenoid, and ethmoid bones, along with a pair of parietal and temporal bones plus the sphenoid bone and ethmoid bone.

The facial bones:
Maxillary bones, palatine bones, zygomatic bones, lacrimal bones, nasal bones, vomer, inferior nasal conchae, and mandible.

Vertebral Column:
26 adult irregular bones are divided into 5 regions:
Cervical region = 7 vertebrae (bones) in neck;Thoracic region = 12 vertebrae in thoracic cavity.
