Too concentrated blood means that there is a decrease in water potential in the blood. This stimulates the hypothalamus, which produces nerve impulses transmitted to the pituitary gland, which increases the secretion of ADH into the bloodstream. Hence, the collecting duct of the kidney becomes more permeable to water, causing more water to be reabsorbed, hence allowing the water potential of blood to increase back to normal.
