Both systems are very closely related because they exert control over all other body systems through homeostasis.

The long process of hormone production, secretion, and transport is carried out by the endocrine system.

Because the nervous system communicates with target tissue or other neurons via electrochemical impulses, or signals, it reacts far faster.

For instance, epinephrine (adrenaline) released by the autonomic nervous system functions as a "neurotransmitter," with epinephrine originating from neurons.

This is done at the ends of sympathetic neurons, which almost instantly triggers a "fight or flight" response. Nevertheless, when sympathetic neurons in the same system coincide at the adrenal medulla, it combines directly with hormones.

In addition to having a large number of blood vessels, the adrenal medulla also contains norepinephrine and epinephrine. These blood vessels enable the quick transfer of those chemicals, which are now known as "hormones," to different parts of the body.

The body reacts instantly (by narrowing the blood vessels) when you bleed. This is the Nervous System utilizing a "sympathetic" response.

Furthermore, renin, angiotensin, and aldosterone—hormones that also aid in blood vessel constriction—will also be 'called upon' and released. These hormones also have other functions, such as water retention, which will help 'preserve' the remaining blood and increase blood volume.
