How is Hubble's Law related to the Doppler Effect?

Answer 1

It is not related, the term Doppler effect was borrowed from an unrelated effect.

Hubble's law suggests that the medium (space) is distorted by energy/mass. The Doppler effect deals with the wave movement of the medium (air) in response to pressure (sound).

You have to think that nothing or space is the medium and that nothingness is being warped in order to accept this.

Answer 2

As the Doppler Effect explains the change in frequency or wavelength of a wave as observed by an observer moving relative to the source of the wave, Hubble's Law describes the relationship between the recessional velocity of distant galaxies and their distance from Earth. Hubble's Law uses the Doppler Effect to measure the redshift of light from distant galaxies, which indicates their recessional velocity and provides evidence for the expansion of the universe.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
