How is Hubble's Law related to the Doppler Effect?

It is not related, the term Doppler effect was borrowed from an unrelated effect.

Hubble's law suggests that the medium (space) is distorted by energy/mass. The Doppler effect deals with the wave movement of the medium (air) in response to pressure (sound).

You have to think that nothing or space is the medium and that nothingness is being warped in order to accept this.
