How does preserving forests and planting trees help combat global warming?

Answer 1

Forests remove Carbon Dioxide from the air which contributed to global warming.

Carbon Dioxide acts as green house gas. The solar radiation that is reflected from the earth's surface can be absorbed and retained by Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere.

During the Mezazoic Era, the high Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere contributed to world wide climate that was much warmer and humid than the present world wide climate. ( Large reptiles, and snakes thrived in that climate)

The High Level of Carbon Dioxide in the Mezazoic also contributed to lush growth of fern forest and vegetation that formed the vast coal deposits found in parts of the earth.

Forests acts as buffers regulating the levels of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. The trees remove Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere in the process of photosynthesis. The extra Carbon Dioxide is turned into Carbon compounds such, sugars, starches and cellulose ( wood products)

Forest by removing Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere reduce the Greenhouse effect, lowering the average temperature of the earth.

Answer 2

Preserving forests and planting trees help combat global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis, which reduces the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, thus mitigating the greenhouse effect and reducing the overall impact of climate change. Additionally, forests act as carbon sinks, storing carbon in their biomass and soils, thereby preventing it from being released into the atmosphere. This helps to maintain a balance in the carbon cycle and reduces the rate of global warming.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
