How did the earth come into being?

The Earth formed when debris in the dust cloud came together due to gravity after the sun formed, the heaviest elements became the core while the lighter elements were farther out. Eventually the Earth cooled and water from asteroid and comet collisions allowed for there to be a water cycle and an atmosphere formed.

The Earth formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago through a process called accretion, where dust and gas in the early solar system gradually clumped together due to gravitational attraction. Over time, these particles collided and merged to form larger bodies, eventually leading to the formation of the Earth. This process occurred within a rotating disk of dust and gas surrounding the young Sun, known as the solar nebula. As the Earth grew, it differentiated into layers, with heavier materials sinking to the center to form the core, while lighter materials rose to the surface to form the crust. The Earth also underwent intense volcanic activity and bombardment by asteroids and comets during its early history, shaping its surface and atmosphere.
