Madeline AndrewsInside of the thyroid gland there are follicles filled with colloid: each follicle is lined by epithelial cells, called follicular cells. These cells are cuboidal epithelial type .
Follicular cells of thyroid produce and secrete thyroxine: by collecting iodine and amino acid tyrosine from blood, these are stored in follicular cavity. Later these are again taken up by the cells and hormone thyroxine is secreted.
