When did the U.S. enter World War I?

Answer 1

Even thought the U.S. entered the war in April 1917, the U.S. was totally unprepared to engage even in the smallest actions. The US had 3 operational aircraft for the purpose of war in 1917, just to show how poorly prepared the U.S. was. In June 1917 the U.S. sent 17,000 soldiers to France. The total active US military had but 140,000 men and about 45,000 reservists, all national guard. The first sizeable force was sent to France in November 1917 which was when the U.S. first took the battlefield.
