How many muscles are found in the human body?

Answer 1

There are three types of muscle tissue found in humans namely, skeletal, smooth and cardiac.

The average human body contains about 640 skeletal muscles, also known as voluntary striated muscles.

Smooth muscle, also known as involuntary non-striated muscle, is present in the skin, ciliary muscle, iris of the eye, male and female reproductive tracts, lymphatic vessels, urinary bladder, respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract.

Heart muscle, also known as involuntary striated muscle, is the thick middle layer of the heart that lies between the inner endocardium and the outer epicardium. It is called the myocardium.
