Red Giants - This explains the presence of bright red stars in observations of globular stars.

In globular clusters, literally almost any type of star can form, with the exception of hot main sequence stars on the HR diagram as they cannot form without being torn apart by the other stars in the cluster. Hence, the brightest stars that can form will be the red giants that exist on the tip of the red giant branch of the HR diagram. I've attached one below for reference. Hope this helps!
