Asteroid is the term used to describe any meteoroid larger than a dust particle. Meteoroids are rocks or other space debris that are floating around in our solar system. They can be as small as dust particles or as large as 10 meters in diameter.

Even though they are called "small astronomical bodies," asteroids can be quite large in comparison to meteoroids. The most well-known asteroid is probably Ceres, which, at 951 km in diameter, can be considered a minor planet. Asteroids are small rocky or metallic astronomical bodies that orbit the Sun. They may also contain organic compounds.

The most well-known comet is the Halley's comet, which is visible every 76 years from Earth and was last seen in 1986. Comets are small, icy astronomical bodies that orbit the Sun. Sometimes they have elongated orbits, and they can be very close to the Sun at one point and very far away at another. When comets are close to the Sun, they exhibit a visible coma, which is often referred to as a tail.
