The Constitutional Convention was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from May 25 to September 17, 1787. The convention took place at the Pennsylvania State House, now known as Independence Hall. The delegates who attended the convention were representatives from twelve of the thirteen original states in the United States. Notable figures present included George Washington, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams.
