What type of environment are most CAM plants found?

Answer 1

In arid and usually hot environments.

CAM plants have a metabolism pathway that is adapted to arid environments. These plants take up and store carbon dioxide (#CO_2#) during the night.
The stored #CO_2# is released during the day. This way, the plant can keep the pores that it uses for gass exchange (stomata) closed on the hottest and dryest time of the day. Keeping the pores closed prevents loss of the water which is crucial for the plants to survive in these conditions.
