What type of (covalent or ionic) would you expect to form between two atoms of somewhat bond high electronegativity?

Answer 1

#"A covalent bond..........."#

For a homonuclear covalent bond, that the individual atoms have high electronegativity is irrelevant. Why? Because the participating atoms have EQUAL electronegativity. And thus for atoms of high electronegativity, we would expect to find #X_2#. And for #F_2#, #O_2#, #N_2# do we not COMMONLY FIND, covalent, binuclear molecules?

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
