What spacecrafts have visited the edges of our solar system?

Answer 1

Voyager 1 and Voyager 2.

The Voyager probes were launched in 1977 and their mission was to explore the outer solar system and beyond. In 2012, Voyager 1 became the first man made object to leave the solar system and enter interstellar space. Voyager 2 is still in the heliosheath, the outermost edge of our solar system. Both probes are still active and transmitting data to Earth, however, scientists are unsure how long the probes will last in the harsh conditions of interstellar space. Here is a link for more information on the Voyager mission.

More recently, the New Horizons spacecraft flew past Pluto in 2015, delivering the first images of Pluto and continuing on to explore the Kuiper Belt. While this is far from the actual edge of the solar system, it has passed the edge of our planetary system. Here is New Horizon's mission page.

Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 are also on escape trajectories form the solar system, however, neither is actively transmitting data to Earth. Here is an overview of that mission.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
