What part of the heart contracts first in the cardiac cycle?

Answer 1

The atriums contract first.

In the second stage, the lower chambers contract to force blood out of the heart and either into your body through the aorta, your main artery, or into your lungs, where oxygen is taken up by your lungs. Blood is pumped from the right atrium down into the right ventricle, and from the left atrium down into the left ventricle.

Be aware that blood flows through the heart on both sides simultaneously.
