Troposphere and Stratosphere

The Troposphere, which is essentially the lowest layer that rises to a height of 10 to 15 km, is where almost all weather happens. Any very large storms that vertically extend past the Tropopause, which is the boundary layer separating the Troposphere and Stratosphere, enter the Stratosphere; these are typically major thunderstorms, MCCs, hurricanes, and thuderstorms.
