We need to look for portioning of this number such that we may easily spot things we can take the square root of. So lets play with it a bit!

#144 = 12 times 12# But we need 1440 so multiply by 10 giving
#1440 = 12 times 12 times 10#
#10# does not have any factors we can take the root of so lets look at the others.
We can factor 12 into #3 times 4# which we can use:
#1440 = 3 times 4 times 3 times 4 times 10#

Now we have something we can deal with:

#sqrt( 3^2 times 4^2 times 10)#
#3 times 4 times sqrt(10)#
#12sqrt(10)#
