The easiest way to tell the slope and intercept of a line is to write it in the form

#y=mx+q#

Since, in this case, #m# and #q# are, respectively, the slope and intercept of the line. Let's do the algebra:

Bring the #y# to the right hand side, and the #2# to the left hand side to obtain

#7x-2=y#

which of course is equivalent to

#y = 7x-2#
