What is the role of blood vessels in the dermis related to thermoregulation?

Answer 1

Blood vessels being capable to expand and contract play quite important role in thermoregulation.

Dermis has rich blood supply far greater than its requirements which allows precise control of energy loss by radiation, convection and conduction.
When the temperature is high, dilated blood vessels(vasodilation) increase perfusion and heat loss while in case of low temperature constricted blood vessels(vasoconstriction) greatly reduce cutaneous blood flow and conserve heat.
That's just quite simple approach to the concept: blood vessels in dermis play a salient role in thermoregulation.

Answer 2

Blood vessels in the dermis play a crucial role in thermoregulation by regulating blood flow to the skin's surface. When the body needs to dissipate heat, the blood vessels dilate, allowing more blood to flow near the skin's surface, facilitating heat loss through radiation and convection. Conversely, when the body needs to conserve heat, the blood vessels constrict, reducing blood flow to the skin's surface, minimizing heat loss. This process helps maintain the body's core temperature within a narrow range.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
