Answer 2

The Sierra Nevada, Sierra Madre and Costal ranges in California

The transverse fault where the Pacific plate and the North American plate meet is responsible for the formation of the Costal ranges, which extend from just north of San Diego to the Washington–Oregon border.

The Sierra Nevada, which stretches from the Transverse Mountains of Southern California to Northern California, is primarily a granite range formed by magma upwelling from the subduction of the Pacific plate beneath the North American plate.

The Sierra Madre range, which stretches from the transverse range of southern California past San Diego and down into Mexico, is primarily composed of granite and is also associated with the subduction zone of the Pacific and North American plates.
