What is the Dalton atomic model?

Answer 1

Dalton assumed that matter is made of indestructible particles called atoms. Atoms of the same substance are similar while that of different substances are different.
As he assumed atoms to be indivisible, he didn't know about the existence of elementary particles (Science at that time didn't discover elementary particles and knew nothing about internal structure of atoms). According to his theory, atoms are indestructible and indivisible and don't have an internal structure.

Answer 2

The Dalton atomic model, proposed by John Dalton in the early 19th century, suggests that atoms are indivisible and indestructible particles that make up all matter. According to this model, atoms of different elements have different masses and properties, and chemical reactions involve the rearrangement of atoms to form new substances while preserving the total mass. Additionally, Dalton's model introduced the concept of atomic weights, with atoms combining in simple whole-number ratios to form compounds.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
