It is easier to divide by #2# if we have an even number.

Write #1/3# as an equivalent fraction with an even numerator:

#1/3 = 2/6 = 4/12 = 6/18...# and so on.

These fractions can now be easily divided by #2#

Half of #2/6# is equal to #1/6#

Half of #4/12# is equal to #2/12 =1/6#

Half of #6/18# is equal to #3/18 = 1/6#

Or we could do it by a maths technique:

#1/3 div2/1# #=1/3 xx 1/2# #=1/6#
