What is earth's current life expectancy?

Answer 1

Earth's current life expectancy is about 4 - 5 billion years.

The sun will have used up most of its hydrogen and begin fusing helium in about 5 billion years, which will cause the sun to explode and transform into a red giant.

Earth will either be so close to the sun that it melts or it will be inside the sun and fall in because the orbit will be decayed by friction with the sun's outer layer. The red giant sun will devour Mercury and Venus and may expand out beyond Earth's orbit.

The Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy will collide in 4 billion years, disrupting star and other object orbits. There's a good chance that Earth will collide with something big enough to wipe out life as we know it.
