The #"IPCC"# report commissioned in 2014 concluded that nuclear power provides the cheapest base-load energy production. It also reported that the total life-cycle emission intensity of fission electricity has an average value of #12 *g# #CO_2# #"equiv/kWh"# which is the lowest out of all commercial base-load energy sources.
