A large surface area and heat-absorbing surface can be used to absorb a lot of solar radiation to either heat water in pipes (which heats homes) or to create electricity by "exciting" electrons in silicon through the use of photons, which are tiny particles that are important in the transportation of energy.
Wind: Coastlines receive a lot of wind, which can generate enough force to turn a large turbine. This turbine is then connected to a generator so that we can harness the energy of the wind and turn it into electricity. Tidal: This is probably the most dependable method because we can count on the tide to come in and out each day. It involves building a sizable dam across a tidal-affected body of water. The water must push through a turbine to move in the desired direction; the water's movement moves the turbine, which in turn powers a generator. This process is similar to hydroelectric, in which the turbine is turned by the energy of water flowing downhill rather than the tide.
