What classifies a volcano as active or inactive?

Answer 1

It all depends on the time its been since the volcano last erupted.

A volcano is considered active if it erupts "frequently," which means it does so every few years; if it hasn't erupted in 10,000 years or more, it is considered inactive and isn't expected to do so. However, there is another kind of volcano known as a dormant volcano, which is an active volcano that hasn't erupted in more than ten years but is predicted to do so again.

I hope this helps, but I'm not sure, so someone please check my response.

Answer 2

A volcano is classified as active if it has erupted recently or is expected to erupt in the near future based on historical activity or monitoring data. Inactive volcanoes, on the other hand, are those that have not erupted for a long time and are not currently showing signs of activity.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
