A few instances are:

Aluminum bodies for cars, steel frames and bodies for houses, copper wires, lead and zinc batteries, and aluminum siding and ducts. Computers and cell phones: silicon chips, copper, aluminum, and other rare earth elements. Roads: bitumen/tar for asphalt, gravel for the road base. Limestone for cement.
