What are the equivalent fractions to 3/7?

Answer 1

They can be: #6/14#, #9/21#, #12/28# and so on.

If you have a fraction #a/b# then any fraction #(ka)/(kb)# for a natural number #k# is equivalent to #a/b#, because it can be reduced by #k#.

Example:

#3/7=(3*2)/(7*2)=6/14#
#3/7=(3*3)/(7*3)=9/21#
Also if #a# and #b# have any common factors greater than #1# you can get other equivalent fractions by reducing original fraction by the factors. For example:
#9/12=(3*3)/(3*4)=3/4#.
So #3/4# is equivalent to #9/12#

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
