What are bioenergetics and metabolism?
Bioenergetics deals with energy flow through living systems. Metabolism is the collective processes through which energy is acquired and utilised by living systems.
BIOENERGETICS The study of energy transformation, or bioenergetics, encompasses the investigation of various cellular and metabolic pathways that result in the synthesis and consumption of energy.
In living things, energy is exchanged and transformed through the breaking and making of chemical bonds; energy is released when weak bonds are broken and strong bonds are formed.
METABOLISM: The term "metabolism" refers to the collection of chemical reactions that are necessary for an organism to survive; these reactions are catalyzed by enzymes and enable an organism to grow, reproduce, maintain its structural integrity, and react to its surroundings.
- Food is converted into energy; 2) Food is converted into building blocks; and 3) Nitrogenous wastes are eliminated. There are two types of metabolism: 1) Catabolism, which breaks down organic matter to harvest energy; and 2) Anabolism, which uses energy to construct molecules like proteins and nuclei acids.

Bioenergetics refers to the study of how living organisms acquire and utilize energy. Metabolism, on the other hand, encompasses all the chemical processes that occur within an organism to maintain life, including the breakdown of nutrients to produce energy and the synthesis of molecules needed for growth and maintenance.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
