Mantle is mostly solid and comprises mainly igneous but granitic rocks. There is no plasma in mantle.

Between the crust and the core, the mantle is approximately 1800 miles thick. It is only found in the rocky planets, including Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, as well as rocky moons like Luna. By volume, the mantle makes up a significant portion of the Earth.
