A great question with no good answers.

The nearest star to Earth is Alpha Centauri, which is 4.3 light years away. Therefore, it would take 4.3 years to travel there at the very least. However, there is a catch: an infinite amount of energy is required to propel a spacecraft at the speed of light.

Even with some of our more advanced technology, it took the New Horizons satellite more than nine years to travel from Earth to Pluto—and that's not even the end of our solar system—traveling at a speed of 36,373 miles per hour, whereas light travels at a speed of 669,600,000 miles per hour.

Every speck of light that we see through our telescopes originated from the Andromeda Galaxy, the closest galaxy to us, which is only 2.537 million light years away.

Though black holes warp space, how would we create a useable black hole? Nobody knows, but Star Trek oddly provided a method that scientists actually think is a feasible way of overcoming the great distances. The concept of "warp speed" implies that you somehow warp, or change the shape of, space in front of you.

We have to perfect the Art of controlled dreaming using our minds.

Everybody has experienced the dream state while they are asleep. Dreams can be just as real in terms of sensory perception as we would typically experience when awake in our physical body. If we have total control over our dream state, we can travel at the speed of our minds to any destination of our choosing. Of course, the absence of the physical body's confines presents a significant obstacle to high-speed space travel, as the mental body cannot stay in space for an extended period of time without connecting to our earthly body.

Since we are unable to carry around cameras and other scientific instruments, science must develop a technology that enables human visual stimuli to be decoded, recorded, and displayed on a computer. Although this technology sounds like science fiction, it would have significant advantages for human education, enabling telepathy and rapid subject learning.
