How is natural gas processed?

Answer 1

Raw gas is extracted from gas wells and first purifies water, various non-methane hydrocarbons, and impurities. The purified condenstate is then sent to an oil refinery, and the water is treated as waste. Next, acid gases are eliminated, and the acid is sent to a sulfur unit for the clause process. Finally, it is sent through tail gas treating. Finally, natural gas is returned to the nitrogen rejection unit, where it is dehydrated, mercury is removed, and it goes through NGL recovery, which includes the turbo-expander and demethanizer. Finally, it is sent to sweetening units, where it yields ethane, propane, butanes, and pentanes.
