How is coal related to hydropower?

There is no direct relation between coal and hydro power.

However, by increasing hydropower, we can lessen the amount of coal that is burned, which will reduce atmospheric pollution and global warming. Burning coal is bad for the environment because it increases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that causes global warming. Additionally, because coal contains sulfur, it releases sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere, which is what causes acid rain.
