How is air taken directly to the muscles in a grasshopper?
Grasshopper is an insect and like all insects, it has tracheal system to supply oxygen to tissues.
()
Tracheae are branched tubular non-collapsible air passages, lined by chitin.
Paired openings are there in the tracheal system for inhalation and exhalation of air. Such openings are called spiracles.
In grasshopper, two pairs of spiracles are there in the thorax and another eight pair are present in the abdomen.
Terminal branches of the tracheal system are called tracheoles, which are not more than one micron in diameter.
Cells (including muscles) of insect's body are supplied by oxygen through trachea and tracheoles. The tubules also help in removing carbon dioxide from tissues.

Air is taken directly to the muscles in a grasshopper through a system of tubes called tracheae. These tracheae are connected to small openings called spiracles located along the sides of the grasshopper's body. When the grasshopper breathes, air enters through the spiracles and travels through the tracheae, delivering oxygen directly to the muscles for respiration.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
