The age of the universe that began with the Big Bang is affected by the time dilation.

The estimated age of the universe is 13.8 billion years, based on the light-year distances between stars. It is important to note that time dilation is not taken into account when estimating the age of the universe, and estimates that do so are probably not accurate.

Time is affected by mass and speed of motion; at a singularity, which is believed to have occurred before the big bang and shortly thereafter, time does not exist. In other words, the more matter or mass in a location, the slower the elapse of time. Time itself began with the big bang and the expansion of matter creating space.

Photons do not experience time; there is no difference to a photon between 1000 years or one day, or 1 billion years and one second. Time itself does not exist at the speed of light, so basing the age of the universe on light years fails to account for the time dilation of the speed of motion.

The electron actually passes through both silts because Figure 4.10, page 110, The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene, "shows the infinite number of paths a single electron must travel from single source. This means that the one electron" (electron has more mass than photon). This indicates that the electron is able to effectively exceed the speed of light even though it does not actually exceed the speed of light at any given point in time due to time dilation.

Estimates of the universe's age and the Big Bang's timing should be impacted by time dilation.
