How does nuclear energy use differ from geothermal and solar energy use?

Answer 1

One is a bi-product disposable nightmare while the other two have no bi-products.

The average nuclear plant has a life span of about 50 years, after which it must be either dismantled or covered over. In the interim, all of the uranium-enriched rods used in power production must be disposed of at a safe location, which causes all kinds of logistical problems. In either case, you have nuclear waste that needs to be stored and kept safe for literally thousands of years. Nuclear energy uses uranium to create the heat needed to turn the turbines which create electricity.

There are zero byproducts from the production of energy from solar and geothermal sources. These sources are clean and have negligible to no impact on the environment.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
