Since world's population is growing (right now 7.4 billion), food demand is also increasing. This food comes from irrigated areas (mostly). Irrigation needs water. But due to climate change (mostly increase in temperature), demand on irrigation water will also increase.
At the same time land and sea temperature has been increasing since the beginning of the industrial revolution (Let's say 1850s). Even if there is no agriculture, evaporation from land and water bodies is expected to rise due to increasing temperature. I reported a 1.7 degrees Celcius increase in sea temperature at Canakkale (Dardanelles Sea Strait - Turkey) between 1986 and 2006.
