How does acid relate to pH?
Any number less than seven on the pH scale is considered an acid.
The pH scale has a range of 0 to 14, where 7 is considered neutral, less than 7 is acidic, and more than 7 is basic.

Acids have pH values below 7. When acids dissolve in water, they release hydrogen ions (H+), lowering the pH of the solution.

When evaluating a one-sided limit, you need to be careful when a quantity is approaching zero since its sign is different depending on which way it is approaching zero from. Let us look at some examples.
