a - - = +, so ( 5 + 2) = + 7

Think a negative is bad and to subtract is to take away. So to take away something bad is good. something good is positive. so - - 2 = +2.

Next working from left to right take

#- 6 - ( +7) = -13 #

Think: " negative means to go down "so you go " down six and then go down another 7"

#-6-7 = -13#

Continue working from left to right

#-13 + 2 = -11 #

Think negative means to go down and positive means to go up. so go down 13 but then up 2

One way to remember PEMDAS is to think like this

PE ( Parenthesis and Exponents) physical education MD ( multiplication and Divisioni) Medical Doctor. ASap ( addition and subtraction ) As Soon as possible
