add 7 to both sides

Remember, do the opposite of what the sign is. If it is negative, add; if it is positive, subtract

#-4y = -9y + 15#

Next, combine your y values.

#-4y = - 9y + 15#

Add nine to both sides to get Y on one side of the equation

#5y = 15#

Step 2: Get Y by itself by dividing both sides by 5

#(5y)/(5) = 15/5#
Your answer is : #Y= 3#
