How do you convert percents to decimals and decimals to percents?

Answer 1

You either divide or multiply by 100.

In order to convert decimals to percents, you multiply the decimal by 100 to get the percent equivalent of the percent, and to convert percents to decimals, you divide the percent by 100 to get the decimal equivalent of the percent.

Since a percent is always based on 100%, decimals up to the hundredths place will always be integers, numbers after the hundredths place will always come after the decimal, and the decimal representation of the tens place in a percent will always be in the tenths place.
