How do you convert 1/6 into a percent and decimal?

Answer 1

See below

Let's convert to decimal first, and I'll explain why later.

To convert #1/6# to decimal, just divide #1# by #6#!! (That's what the fraction is showing; a fraction = numerator #divide# denominator)
#1divide6=0.16666666...#
So that is #1/6# in decimal form! (#0.16# recurring)
Note that per in percent means each and #cent# means 100.
Therefore, percentage is just the quantity out of #100#! Simple!
So, multiply the decimal form of #1/6# by #100# (That is why I did decimal first)
#0.16666666...*100=16.66666.......%#
